Chaos Infiltration and Recall

There are two methods of Chaos infiltration: - Entering on foot via the perimeter - Transmission via a Transmitter Using a Transmitter reduces unnecessary travel, avoids monster encounters, and minimizes exposure to Chaos energy. Most squads managed by a Protos use this method. Normally, Agents transmit using coordinates from Waypoints installed inside or outside of Chaos. However, infiltration into a Singularity can proceed without a Waypoint. Waypoints also support the team’s normal return. If a device has been destroyed, the squad must seek another usable Waypoint or consider Emergency Recall. This emergency procedure relies on the Life Core carried by the person to be extracted and can return them to the SS Nightmare without reaching a Waypoint. Mika explains that Emergency Recall can cause effects similar to prolonged direct exposure to Chaos energy, including memory loss and irreversible physical harm, although these consequences are not inevitable. The ship also needs to receive the Life Core’s signal; a damaged device can prevent extraction.
