Emergency Recall

Emergency Recall is the evacuation protocol that forces a Life Core wearer back to their mother ship when remaining in the field poses an unacceptable danger. The portable Life Core enables this return even when no Waypoint can be reached. The SS Nightmare’s operators can execute the protocol following an evacuation order, and the device also protects wearers who suffer severe mental or physical trauma during an operation. Designed as a last resort, the procedure carries risks that make a planned return through a Waypoint preferable when circumstances allow. During a forced recall, the wearer can be exposed to concentrated Chaos energy and may suffer memory loss or permanent physical damage. These aftereffects are possible, but do not occur every time. Protos are described as immune to these particular aftereffects; other agents may require care and recovery after their return. The procedure depends on functioning equipment and a usable signal. If a Life Core is damaged and the ship cannot receive its signal, the protocol may be unable to extract that wearer. The condition of the Life Core therefore remains critical even when an emergency evacuation has been ordered.
